2020 Alpina B7 Series Redesign, Specs, Price & Relase Date
A sporty version of the 7 Series, the 2020 Alpina B7 benefits from the rejuvenation of the BMW limousine. His performances are worthy of a supersport.
The Alpina B7 has not waited a long time to take advantage of the Changes applied to the BMW 7 Series. Nothing more normal, since all Alpina vehicles depend on the production of the Munich manufacturer. Each modification made on a model of the firm to the propeller thus impacts directly its equivalent at Alpina. What does this Series 7 bring with having abandoned its original badge? It is the sport complement to the BMW 7 Series, like the Mercedes S 63 AMG. Some say that this role is already the M760Li driven by a V12, but this block significantly increases this model marketed only limousine version. Moreover, in terms of performance, the latter is no better than the Alpina B7 despite its superior capacity.
2020 Alpina B7 Redesign & Changes
From the outside, this Alpina really looks like a sports car. The front skirt has functional air intakes and sports the famous lettering “ALPINA”, the exhaust outlets are double and the diffuser is adorned with fins. The 20-inch (21-inch optional) wheels also reinforce the sporty side of the vehicle. Inside, the B7 installs occupants in a stately and luxurious atmosphere. Driving aids and state-of-the-art infotainment system, precious materials, individual production plate, nothing is missing for a first-class trip.
This high-end sedan also treats its road behavior. The ride height is adjustable to an amplitude of 35 mm, the dampers are controlled, the “Sport Plus” mode is part of the specific modes of Alpina vehicles, the four wheels are driving and steering, and the high-performance braking system employs discs of 395 mm diameter at the front and 398 mm at the back. Under the hood, we find the V8 biturbo 4.4 liters of the previous vintage. Its power and torque remain unchanged: 608 horses and 800 Nm.
Information that could disappoint the followers of “always more”. Maximum torque is however available 1,000 rpm earlier than before. The performance is worthy of a supersport: the 0 to 100 km / h is shot in 3.6 seconds and the top speed is 330 km / h. Impressive for a machine over two tons.
